Organic and French jersey fabric collection: our double challenge

Since its creation, Cousu Bio is used to propose exclusive designs printed onorganic cotton poplin. But in order to offer you even more choices of eco-responsible fabrics, we have taken on a new challenge and stepped out of our comfort zone: we offer you a collection of organique certified organic and French jersey fabrics.

Our jersey fabric is sold from 30 cm and also available forprofessionals at a dedicated price from 3 meters.

Ethical and organic jersey

As for all our exclusive collections, our fabrics have been certified by the organique label. This label offersthe best guarantees regarding the cultivation, transformation and composition of the textiles as well as the conditions of the workers. Therequirements of the organique label go far beyond those of the Oeko-Tex label.

A collection made in France: proximity and transparency

This collection of 4 patterns was designed and created in France from organic cotton from Turkey.

• Knitting :FranceThis collection is made in France, near Lyon, by a historical knitter who perfectly masters this know-how coming from the canuts' era.
• Printing :FrancePrinting: France, between Lyon and Mâcon, using a method that requires no water, no transfer paper, and no use of polluting products that are toxic to humans and nature.
• Design :Franceby Nicolas Gouny, youth illustrator from Creuse.

What product can be called Made In France?

To indicate that a product is Made In France or Made in France, the European Union Customs Code requires that the product must :

• or have undergone in France itslast "substantial transformation" in FranceThis most often corresponds to a change in customs codification (the customs code of the finished product is different from that of the raw materials and components. Example: cotton yarn transformed into fabric).
• or respect a minimum threshold of added value produced in Franceof the "factory gate" price (often 45%, at least 45% of the cost of creating the finished product must go to France).

A stretchy and comfortable jersey for children and adults

Our jersey is made of 95% organic cotton and 5% elastane. 40% stretch, it will be very comfortable and adapted to the most sensitive skins.

The jersey is not difficult to sew as long as you pin the fabric well before passing it under the needle(jersey) of your sewing machine.

With a width of 160 cm, you can make several garments for adults and children.

A childlike and enchanted universe

Peter Paon is part of the Cache-Cache Enchanté collection imagined for Cousu Bio by the children's illustrator Nicolas Gouny.

This charming design illustrates a peacock perched on a branch in the middle of a dense, colourful and flowery nature in shades of blue.

The very deep colours of this design will sublimate theclothes of babies, children and adults.

To inspire you, the designer Maëva Bai did not just sew a dress but a Yara bodysuit from Make it Yours associated with a Givre mini skirt from Deer and Doe.

Care instructions

Don't forget to wash your fabric before starting to sew so that your creation doesn't shrink by 3%. It is recommended to wash the jersey at 40°C and to avoid putting it in the tumble dryer.
